What is mechatronic design?
Mechatronics is an engineering branch that combines mechanics, information technology and electronics. In fact, we are talking about mechatronic engineering and design. It is a sector that is strongly on the rise in recent years, important to further explore for those who aim in developping greater skills. The market increasingly requires products that combine mechanics and electronics, and which are at the same time equipped with a control system – as it happens for example in home automation (automation of industrial machines), in automotive components, and obviously in robotics in all its possible uses: industrial, medical and recreational. Consequently, mechatronic design requires the presence of qualified personnel, therefore able to operate with the appropriate technologies. Italy is the first country in the world for the number of mechanical and mechatronic products, the sector indeed represents 15% of manufacturing turnover.
What sets it apart from the mechanical design?
The field of engineering is incredibly rich in specializations. Although it involves scientific, mathematical, economic, social and practical applications with the aim of improving the quality of life, it has many differentiations in itself. In the mechanical design the engineer combines the principles of physics and mathematics with the science of materials to design, analyze, produce and maintain any type of mechanical system.
He has to use tools such as computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and product lifecycle management. The latter are fundamental for designing and analyzing production plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices, weapons and much more.
In mechatronic design we deal with information technology and mechanics, i.e. the robotic applications allowing applications in classical mechanics. This concept refers to the motion control. Electronic parts (including software) replace or integrate mechanical parts.

Why has Hypertec Solution integrated mechatronic design among its services since 2015?
If mechanical engineering presents itself as a more versatile and wide-ranging field, electronic engineering is a more sectoral branch, despite some disciplines of common study. In particular, in the electronics sector there will be a real explosion of requests in the next fifteen years. Hypertec Solution therefore decided to immediately integrate this design service, to create and train technical figures capable of identifying elements of uncertainty within processes, integrating robots, and using complex sensors.
Where is mechatronic design applied?
There are many sectors explored by Hypertec Solution that require this expertise:
Automation and robotics
Servomechanisms
Sensors and controls
Automotive industry
Aerospace industry
Medical Devices

Hypertec Solution training is constantly updated
- Education and training
- Team working
- Continuous updates
Rapid changes in the labor market and technologies require the development of professional figures with skills suited to the new standards. It is therefore essential to have a strong internal training in the company, between expert engineers and new recruits, as well as getting used to continuous acquisition of updates, including external ones, studying the global evolution of the world of mechanics and electronics.
The fundamental importance of sharing ideas between colleagues should never be underestimated. It is therefore considered essential to create solid work teams to constantly grow in every area of engineering. With these integrated strategies together with the skills of its experts, Hypertec Solution presents itself as a reference company in the field of mechatronic design for its customers.
